Remembering a Memory – The Grosse Isle Celtic Cross

Remembering a Memory – The Grosse Isle Celtic Cross

Monday, May 16  Irish Heritage Quebec will hold an activity at 7:30 PM in McMahon Hall, 1145 De Salaberry, Quebec City.

Ronald Rudin will present the film Remembering a Memory  that he and Robert McMahon made.

The film explores the various stories inspired by the Celtic Cross constructed in 1909 on Grosse Isle which is the site of the largest cemetery outside Ireland connected with the Potato Famine of the 1840s.

This film reflects on how and why the memories evoked by Grosse Isle have so dramatically shifted over the past century. Refreshments will be served and parking stubs for Ilot St.Patrick will be validated. For more information contact Irish Heritage Quebec at 418-527-2238 or 418-704-3404. All are welcome.
