Saint-Roch’s New “Mystery” Tower Concept Revealed

Quebec City (Quebec) 20 September 2015 – The 20-story tower under construction in Saint-Roch will be widely fenestrated and composed of blocks of various sizes. It has been some time that the citizens of the Saint-Roch district are wondering what the neighbor of the Gabrielle-Roy Library, will look like, but an image of the tower, designed by the firm of architects LEMAYMICHAUD had yet to be made public.

The promoter has its building permit, everything is launched, but the project is still in the hands of the Commission planning and conservation. A green light has yet to be given, but only for finishing material.

The building, named Jacques Cartier Square Tower will have 169 homes and businesses on the ground floor. Launched nearly a year ago after the demolition of the auditorium of the Gabrielle-Roy Library and reconstruction of underground parking, the site will last until 2018. The final redevelopment will also include a public square, major work $ 56 million made to the library and redesigned access for buses.
