School Entrepreneurship Day in Beauport

School Entrepreneurship Day in Beauport

An entrepreneurship project pushed forward by teacher Marie-Ève Nadeau and her sixth grade students from Beausoleil Elementary School in Beauport allowed presenting an outdoors day.

A first, this winter activity gathered more than 400 kids in the establishment’s school yard with an objective to reinforce the kids’ relationship with school.

Beausoleil Elementary School is a big school and educates more than 400 students. The administration faces many realities, which unfortunately separates the students. The occasions to unite all children from preschool to sixth grade as well as the three adaptation classes, are limited. This is why this teacher and her students decided to take on this entrepreneurship project to group everyone together.

Their goal was make the school shine and to strengthen the sense of belonging of students. This first big day of outdoor activities allowed children to move and participate in many organized and animated activities.

Grouped in teams of a dozen players, the students accumulated points in each activity and the results were then compiled to be written in a record book called the Beaurecords. Eight activities were scheduled during the day such as a relay race, sleigh race, snow-fort building, and many more.

All Beausoleil teachers and many parent volunteers contributed to the success of this event.
