Sears Canada wants to seduce employees affected by the closure of Target stores and has tabled a special offer – just for them.

Sears Canada wants to attract Target employees and encourages them to find job opportunities on their website.

Starting this week, Sears Canada will announce job fairs across the country, to help employees who will lose their jobs in the coming weeks.

In a statement last Friday, Sears Canada has invited Target Canada’s head office employees to meet with senior executives and Sears Canada human resources specialists in Toronto this week.

Also, on Wednesday this week, Sears Canada will allow Target to enjoy employees’ discount “generally reserved for its workforce and for a period of 16 weeks.”

This discount is a generous 25% on semi-durable goods such as food and perfumes, and 15% on durable goods.

For those with their heads under rocks or nowhere near social media this past week, Target announced the closure of its 133 stores in Canada over the next 16 to 20 weeks.

This obviously includes all Target stores located in Quebec province.

In total, nearly 17,600 employees will lose their jobs across the country in the coming weeks.
