Lévis (Québec) Montreal’s pop rock punk band Simple Plan got the crowd going from the second they took centre stage on the opening night of Lévis’ 2015 edition of Festivent.

Kicking off with favourite Jet Lag, the crowd jumped in time with the beats from the off.

Their energetic performance was contagious, full on, and enjoyed by all.

On a warm July evening, the party atmosphere was evident as lead singer Pierre Bouvier launched a beach ball into crowd. Many more appeared and were kept up in the air and bounced along.

Bouvier also invited everyone there to wave their cellphones in the air and light up the sky. This was duly achieved with gusto.

The guys from Montreal have been on the go for 16 years now, and have amassed million-selling albums and a good number of hits along the way.

We were treated to many of them tonight.

I’d Do Anything was dedicated to their fans.

‘Make some noise if this is your first Simple Plan concert’, roared Bouvier. Quickly followed by ‘Welcome to the family’.

They clearly think a lot of their fans. ‘It’s always a dream to be in front of a big crowd. Without you we are nothing’, said Bouvier.

A young 18-year old fan was invited on stage to have a photo with the band. This after the lead singer spotted her in the crowd with her banner stating ‘I’ve been waiting 10 years for a photo with you’.

Unforgettable for the young fan, and in addition to their addictive music, yet another reason to like these guys.

The band has matured over the years, but they’re still having fun and are at the top of their game.

A great performance to open the 2015 edition of Festivent.
