Solar House Project Partner Wanted

Solar House Project Partner Wanted

House_solar_panelsWanting citizens to be more autonomous with their energy consumption, an architect from Sainte-Foy is looking for partner businesses that could help him create his modular solar house project that he has been working on for the past three years.

The advantage of creating electricity is that there is no need to connect to Hydro-Quebec. For now, it is more expensive to have a solar house but, in a few years, it could create a cost reduction.

Elaborated from a house model measuring 20 by 40 feet, Mr. Parent’s project includes two solar panels which close at night to considerably reduce the heating costs. This allows to have a year-long garden to produce food.

The owners who want to install such a system must part with the not inconsiderable sum of $25 000 for the panels alone.

The solar panels have a 30 degree inclination so they can catch optimal lighting in winter. The panels can generate 3,000 watts which can be used in an electricity shortage.

Other than the panels and interior greenhouses, the instigator sees his project as a concept including many types of recycling. It is a chain. It can create energy by recycling food. A nearby forest can be nourished. The wood is then used for heating.

Let’s not forget the rain water collected in a reservoir for laundry.

It is something to think about isn’t it.
