St Patrick’s Day Parade Organisers Honoured

During a recent Irish Heritage Quebec meeting, Joseph Lonergan made a presentation to St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee members in recognition of bringing the event back to Quebec City.

During the meeting, Mr Lonergan also talked about the history of the parade.

Committee member Peter Farrell then responded by bringing the attendees up to date with a review of the committee’s efforts thus far.

Quebec – The organization of the Défilé de la St-Patrick de Québec is pleased to announce that the Parade will return in 2011.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 26th , 2011. The official unveiling of the event, the route, the concept and its participants is planned for early 2011. The Return of  Défilé de la St-Patrick de Québec was successfully completed in 2010 after 84 years absence. Indeed, the last St. Patrick’s parade which took place in Quebec dates back to 1926. Over 40,000 spectators attended the festivities in 2010. Strengthened by the success of the 2010 edition, the tradition will continue in 2011.
