Summer Book Quest for 2013

Summer Book Quest for 2013

The Morrin Centre launches Book Quest: Explore!

Quebec City, June 20, 2013 – The Morrin Centre’s ninth annual Book Quest invites children ages 5 to 12 to embark on a series of unique summer weekend activities from July 6 to August 24. On Saturday, July 6 at 10 a.m., Quebec City’s English-language cultural centre will host the Book Quest: Explore! launch party, during which participants and their families will take part in a scavenger hunt.

They will race to different stations—from the library to the beach, to a spy’s lair, and more—before getting started on the book quest itself. After snacks and drinks, participants will receive their reading passport, instructions for the Book Quest, and a free library membership for the summer.
The Morrin Centre Book Quest has become a staple summer activity for children who are learning to read, who are thoroughly in love with books or who haven’t yet discovered their passion for reading. “It’s a pleasure to be able to count on the support of our partners year after year and to get children from both the Anglophone and Francophone communities reading in English,” said the Centre’s library manager, Jessica Kelly-Rhéaume.
Weekend activities over the summer will include a safari story time and a nature craft.

Places are still available for those who would like to take part in this reading adventure.
Sign up today at the library, by phoning 418-694-9147 or writing to info@morrin.org.

Information on the launch party and other Book Quest activities is also available on the Morrin Centre’s online calendar of events at www.morrin.org.
