Used Books Everywhere Thanks to QCWC

If you were in Quebec City last Saturday (29th October, 2011) and you were in the hunt for used English books, then the Eastern Quebec Learning Centre was the place to be.

The line up snaked long into the road, book lovers hoping to spot a bargain were eager to get in and see the 1’000’s of titles available.

At 9am, stalwart supporter John O’Connor, opened the doors to the annual Quebec City Women’s Club (QCWC) book sale.

The place was packed within seconds and the books were browsed by the happy throng.

As the morning progressed, hundreds of happy customers left the sale laden with bags.

‘That lot will keep me going through the winter’ commented one contented purchaser on the way out.

The annual event also gave acquaintences and friends an opportunity to get together.

All of the money raised on the day goes towards higher education bursaries for deserving ladies within the English-speaking community of Quebec City.
