Very Lonely Sandwich Visits Quebec City English Bookstore

Very Lonely Sandwich Visits Quebec City English Bookstore

Submitted by AngloStore

On Saturday June 25th, many of Quebec City’s young readers were present in AngloStore to see Winnipeg-based chlidren’s author Nicole Petroski read from her book ‘The Very Lonely Sandwich’.

Nicole started proceedings by asking ‘who likes sandwiches?’
Little hands shot up in the air, their owners eager to respond with what they enjoyed between two pieces of bread.

The author entertained the standing room only crowd with a full reading and then answered questions from the young audience members.

When asked how the book came into being? Miss Petroski responded by letting everyone know that her niece was the inspiration behind the story.

One day, a few years ago now, her relative had asked ‘Aunt Nicole’ for a story about mayonnaise. And so it all began.

Seven years and several rewrites later, A Very Lonely Sandwich finally hit the bookshelves.

First published in 2008 by Purple Tuesday Press, The Very Lonely Sandwich is still going strong today.

What do you like in yours?
