Quebec City is ready to face winter.

Starting November 1st, Québec City may start snow removal operations.

The City provides different tools to allow its citizens to keep informed.

From November 1st on, regulations on parking in the street during winter come into force in the entire Quebec City area.

Why?

To allow the maintenance crews to go into action at the first snowfall.

Snow removal on private property. Not on the road!

Did you know it is forbidden to throw snow or ice on the road or on the pavement unless you have a special permit to do so?
Imagine the condition of the roads during winter season if all citizens decided to clear their entry and dump the snow on the road!
By getting a special permit, and under certain conditions, you can dump snow on the side of the road BEFORE the maintenance crews pass by.
You can obtain your snow-removal permit for 2010-2011 in any district offi ce. Its cost varies according to the area to be cleared of snow.
Not respecting these specific regulations could result in a fine ranging between 150$ and 1000$.
Information: communicate with your borough’s office or consult our website at www.ville.quebec.qc.ca.

  1. Starting November 1st, Québec City may start snow removal operations. ?????

Who writes this? If you are going to be the voice of Anglophones – get an educated Anglophone to write the stories.

May means there is a possibility (50%) – it can also be replaced by might – So maybe you should have written – Québec City might start snow removal operations and then again they might not depending on how they feel.

    • Hi Guillaume,

Thanks for taking the time to respond. We appreciate all feedback.

We’d like to stress that we are not, nor do we claim to be, the voice of Anglophones in Quebec City.
We do, however, run a website in English about Quebec City and the surrounding region.

The Anglophone community is obviously part of the Quebec City community as a whole and therefore, LifeinQuebec.com does contain articles and items of interest from various sources within it.

An interesting use of the terms may and might. Something that could be debated forever.

We’d be interested in knowing if you might like to write some opinion pieces or articles for us?

If this would be of interest, please do contact us.
