Violent Fire Takes Auberge Montmorency

Quebec City (Quebec) 2015-07-26 – A violent fire Friday night completely destroyed the old Auberge Montmorency, in l’Ange-Gardien on Côte-de-Beaupré.

A first alarm was sounded around 4:30 am by witnesses who passed by. Although some have told the media they heard an explosion, the cause of the fire has not been determined and is to be confirmed.

Thirty firefighters battled the flames. When they arrived, the fire had spread to one side of the building and covered the entire roof. Given the risk of collapse, they had to opt for a defensive strategy.

Fortunately, the place was unoccupied at the time of the fire. There were therefore no injuries.
