Willkommen to the Quebec City ‘German Christmas Market’ 2013

This year’s version and the sixth edition of the very popular German Christmas Market is up and running squeezed into its new location between the Notre-Dame Cathedral and City hall, and there’s lots goin’ on from now until Dec.8th.

The official opening took place Saturday Nov. 30 with the Mayor and the president of the Quebec German Society residing over the ceremony, together with a quick visit from Weihnachtsmann. The quaint little wooden booths house thirty different presenters offering all different kinds of candy, food and artifacts.

The most popular booth year after year is for some unknown reason, the one that serves Glüwein (a warm German white wine), that is especially appreciated when the temperature is hovering around “0” or less.

Things usually get rolling around 10 in the morning and continue on during the day, every day until Dec. 8th. Any extra information can be found on their website at noelallemandquebec.com.
