Victoriaville (Quebec) August 8, 2014 – A 21 year old nursing student was arrested this week in Victoriaville, suspected of being the author of 40 breaking and entering cases involving theft in and around the Victoriaville area.

After several robberies had been reported police started an inquiry into the search for possible suspects. With the help of witnesses and a few clues, police were led to a search of a suspect’s house where they found jewelry and electronics which had been stolen from houses throughout the region. Money and firearms had also been stolen from the homes involved.

The woman in custody, identified as Stéphanie Beaudoin, was apparently robbing houses when the owners were away and at times had a dog and a 13 year old accomplice helping her out. The accomplice has not been charged or identified. It was also noticed that her vehicle was a white Mitsubishi with pink mag wheels, which is unique for the area and made it easier for the police to pinpoint their perpetrator.

The woman was living with her parents while completing a nursing internship and was soon to be out working as a nurse full time. The break-ins took place over a short period of time and her parents are completely shocked by the accusations. The assumption that Mme Beaudoin may have some mental issues was also brought up by her lawyer and he may ask that she be examined by a psychiatrist as part of her defense platform. She has been convicted of 25 breaking and entering and 15 thefts as it stands, but police say other people may come forward with more accusations as her case advances.
