World Snowboard Championship Activities and Schedule

With 46 flags aligned under the falling snowflakes Saturday night, the World Snowboard Championship’s opening ceremony resembled mini-Olympic Games. So, when are the big, the real ones coming to Quebec?

Sarah Lewis left Quebec Sunday morning. She is going to Kitzbühel in Austria for the popular Alpine Ski Male World Cup. Leader of the FIS since 2000, the 48-year old British woman is a former alpine skier. She participated in the Olympic Games in 1988 in Calgary.

The World Snowboard Championship in Quebec is very well prepared; there is a good ambiance, a good organization, and many awesome activities. The choice of the city and organizers of such an event are decisions made by the national federation, in this case, Snowboard Canada. Lewis is glad to see her organization present three events in the region this winter: Urban Ski Sprint World Cup (December), Snowboard World Championships (January), and the Junior Alpine Skiing World Championships (February).
