Young amputees gathered for seminar in Quebec

Young amputees participated in the annual seminar for child amputees last weekend in Quebec City.
‘Winners’ was organized by the Association of War Amps of Canada.

90 families, a child and a parent, met to exchange advice and attend various sessions designed especially for them.

Participants attended demonstrations of artificial limbs. Conferences on the various options for prosthetic limbs, self-esteem and the importance of leading an active lifestyle were also given.

According to the director of the program for child amputees, Louis Bourassa, this annual meeting is to ensure that young people “don’t feel alone in the world anymore.”

The Association of war amputees accepts donations from the public to continue its activities.
